General Advice
Timing
- Check the Aeon Index before you go out.
- Aging light passes through cloud.
- Aging light passes through windows.
Sunscreen
- SPF 50 with UVA protection. On the label: “broad spectrum”, “UVA” in a circle, or PA++++.
- Every morning, on your face, cloudy days and winter included.
- Use enough: about a quarter of a teaspoon for the face.
- 15 minutes before going out, and again every two hours outside.
Cover-up
- A wide-brimmed hat, or an umbrella.
- Sunglasses, for the skin around the eyes.
- Tightly woven clothing blocks more than thin or loose fabric. A UPF rating is the clothing’s own SPF.
- Shade helps but isn’t complete: water, sand and snow reflect light back up.
